School influence

Allen ISD: Buses and departure times may be delayed depending on the location and strength of daytime storms. Please stay tuned for announcements from your campus about possible changes to layoff times. In the event of inclement weather and/or a tornado warning that occurs at the time of layoffs, students will not be released from campus but will instead be moved to predetermined safe locations within the building.

Arlington ISD: Arlington ISD will take all appropriate weather related actions depending on the time [Thursday’s] storms. Schools regularly conduct weather drills so that if students and staff need to take shelter, they are prepared to do so.

ISD Dallas: We will continue to monitor the weather forecast for tomorrow and will share any necessary updates. We also encourage our families to keep up-to-date information on the county website and social media.

ISD Frisco: Shelter-in-Place involves moving students, staff, and visitors to the safest possible predetermined locations, which vary by campus. Any parents in vehicles queuing to arrive or depart will be invited inside to find shelter. Due to time constraints and urgent protective actions required during a weather emergency, parents will not be able to evict students or join designated shelters. Once the weather emergency has passed and the severe weather warning has expired, the campus will return to normal operations. Bus routes may be disrupted during Severe Weather Warnings. Buses will not complete routes until the severe weather warning has expired and the hazard has passed. A delay in the delivery of students is possible after the resumption of normal bus traffic. If buses are already running when a severe weather warning is issued, drivers are trained to seek the nearest shelter. This includes field trips and regular student transportation, and the district will notify you when buses are delayed due to inclement weather.
