DFW-based restaurant chain Steak and Ale is returning to Grande Prairie for the first time.

Grand Prairie, Texas. A long-closed North Texas restaurant plans to make a comeback as restaurant chain Steak and Ale announced its return by opening its first location in Grande Prairie.

The once popular North Texas-based restaurant chain closed after filing for bankruptcy in 2008. The chain was founded by Norman Brinker, the same restaurateur who founded Chili’s.

The return of Steak and Ale was announced a few weeks ago, but it was only today that the restaurant chain officially announced that it would be opening its first location in Grande Prairie.

Grand Prairie Mayor Ron Jensen has confirmed that the restaurant will be coming to town along with its iconic salad bar and is planned to be located near Interstate 30.

If all goes according to plan, the restaurant is expected to open sometime in 2024.

The restaurant chain is known for its variety of steaks, including top quality ribs, filet mignon, New York Strip, Kensington club, and has advertised itself as offering upscale dining at low prices. It was also known for its unlimited salad bar.
