Dallas-based sports betting platform nVenue is selected by NBA Launchpad to explore fan-facing technology.

nVenue is a women-led sports betting platform that uses machine learning and artificial intelligence to create real-time, game-relevant odds and microbets for fans.

DALLAS – nVenue, a women-led sports betting platform that uses machine learning and artificial intelligence to create game probabilities and micro-bets that fans can interact with in real time, was one of seven companies selected to participate in the the NBA Launchpad program. .

The Dallas-based tech company will create a dedicated microbetting curation engine for basketball that leverages NBA assets to create unique, contextual, in-game markets for microbetting, props, and betting. The product will be unveiled to league leaders during the NBA Launchpad Demo Day at NBA Summer League 2K24 in Las Vegas.

nVenue was the only sports betting site selected to participate in the program. Here are all the members of the NBA Launchpad and the products they offer:

Improving Fan Experience:

  • nVenue (Dallas/Houston, Texas): A sports betting platform that uses machine learning and artificial intelligence to create game probabilities and micro bets that fans can interact with in real time.
  • Action sound (Victoria, Australia): A technology that converts spatial data into information-rich 3D audio, helping blind and visually impaired viewers to follow sports events in real time.
  • EDGE Sound Research (Riverside, California): Embedded audio technology that uses standard audio inputs to deliver audio, tactile, and tactile sensations directly to fans in the arena or at home during sports, music, and games.

  • Springbok Analytics (Charlottesville, Virginia): AI-powered technology that converts MRI data into a 3D digital twin, quantifying an athlete’s musculature to accurately optimize health and performance.
  • super sapiens (Atlanta, Georgia): A technology that analyzes glucose data to inform athletes about how nutrition affects their well-being, sleep and athletic performance.

“The NBA Launchpad expansion has opened the door to creating and improving ways fans can experience our game,” said Jason Bieber, vice president of global strategy and innovation, NBA. “By collaborating with these innovative companies, we hope to bring fans closer to action and uncover ideas about the future of fan engagement.”

This announcement adds to nVenue’s growing portfolio of partners interested in using its technology. nVenue provides on-screen predictive analytics for the 2022 MLB Friday game season on Apple TV+.

nVenue also announced in October 2022 that it had launched its own NFL “microbetting” markets using its NextPlayLive API technology. The markets are available to customers to offer to players in states where betting is legal, nVenue WFAA said.

Texas is one of 14 states where sports betting remains illegal, but numerous bills have been proposed in the state legislature to legalize it, including one filed by a Fort Worth legislator and another by a Houston senator. Thirty-three states, as well as Washington, DC, have legal rates, and three others have passed laws but are not yet in effect.

If sports gambling had made it through the 2023 legislative session, it would have been on the ballot a few months later.

nVenue has offices in Dallas and Houston. The 2023 companies are part of the second year of the NBA Launchpad.
