Dallas acquired Jesus Jimenez from Toronto in exchange for Brandon Servania

FRISCO, Texas (February 20, 2023) – FC Dallas has acquired forward Jesus Jimenez and a spot on the international roster for 2023 in exchange for linebacker Brandon Servania, the club announced today. Toronto FC will withhold a portion of Jimenez’s salary from the budget. Jimenez will take a seat on the international roster until he receives a P-1 visa and an International Transfer Certificate (ITC).

Jimenez, 29, moved to Dallas after spending the 2022 season with Toronto, where he scored nine goals and provided three assists in 33 MLS regular season games. Prior to joining Toronto, Jimenez spent four seasons with Polish Division I Gornik Zabrze. A native of Leganés, Spain, he has made 134 appearances, scoring 43 goals and 26 assists in all competitions (Ekstraklasa, Polish Cup and Europa League) for Górnik.

He began his football career with CD Leganés’ youth system before playing two seasons with the reserves.With team. He also played for AD Unión Adarve (2013-14), Alcorcón B (2014-15), Atlético Pinto (2015) and CD Illescas (2015-16) before joining CF Talavera de la Reina in 2016. He scored 26 league goals. in 33 matches in his first season, helping the club to be promoted to the Segunda División B, Spain’s third division. In two seasons at Talavera, Jiménez scored 36 goals in 68 appearances in all competitions.

Servania, 23, signed with Dallas on January 3, 2018, becoming the 19th homegrown player in the club’s history with 74 appearances in all competitions and scoring five goals and seven assists. While at the club, he also participated in two FC Bayern Munich training camps under the club’s elite player development partnership, which was formed in 2018, and loaned out championship teams USL Tulsa Roughnecks FC (2018) and SKN St. Poelten ( 2021).

Servania joined the Dallas FC Academy in 2015 and was a member of the U-16 team that brought home the 2016 USA Football Development Academy national championship and the U-18 team that won the club’s first Jago Dallas Gordon Cup Supergroup title in 2017. Internationally, Servania competed in the 2019 FIFA U-20 World Cup and helped the US reach the quarter-finals before losing to Ecuador. He made his senior team debut in an international friendly against Costa Rica on February 1, 2020.

Jesus is a seasoned player with a proven goal scoring time in the league. We felt that Jimenez would be a really good addition to our group.”
