CPSC calls for end of $13 bicycle helmet sold at Walmart.com

The US Consumer Product Safety Commission warns that if you have a TureClos bicycle helmet, stop using it immediately.

KPSK says helmets sold on Walmart.com do not meet federal safety standards. Helmets may not protect riders in the event of a crash, which can result in head injury.

Bicycle helmets were sold online at Walmart.com from March to November 2022 for about $13.

Oversized helmets in black with blue inserts, black and white stripes, black straps and red buckle. There are no markings inside the helmet and no external markings.

The CPSC is urging consumers to stop using it, cut off the straps and dispose of these helmets immediately.

Helmet maker Dongguanshisuyubgsgabgnaiyiuxiangongsi in China has refused to recall helmets or offer consumer protection.

The CPSC says it is aware of other TureClos bicycle helmets for sale online in red, but they have not specifically tested the safety of these helmets.

CPSC continues to hold revoke and requests that any incidents involving product damage or defects be reported to the CPSC at www.SaferProducts.gov.
