Cosori fryers recalled due to fire risk

Consumers should stop using fryers immediately.

WASHINGTON. Cosori is recalling more than 2 million fryers sold in the US, Canada and Mexico because their wire connections can overheat and cause a fire.

The US Consumer Product Safety Commission announced the recall on Thursday. The agency said consumers should stop using deep fryers immediately.

The recall includes several model numbers in 3.7 and 5.8 quart sizes. All units have the Cosori branding on the front.

The fryers were sold between June 2018 and December 2022 at Best Buy, Target, and Home Depot, and online at Amazon, Walmart, and other retailers. They cost between $70 and $130.

Consumers should contact Cosori at Recall.cosori.com to receive a free replacement fryer or other product. Consumers must provide their contact information and a photo of their recalled device. Receipts are not needed.

The Cosori brand is owned by Vesync, based in Shenzhen, China. The company received 205 reports of deep fryers burning, burning, melting, overheating, or smoking. The agency said there were 10 reports of minor burns and 23 reports of minor property damage.

The Cosori trademark is on the front of each device. The model number is printed on the bottom label of each device and in the accompanying user manual. Units are 3.7 and 5.8 quarts. and were sold in black, grey, white, blue or red.
