Conservancy of Southwest Florida opens new environmental studies dorm

COLLIER COUNTY, Florida. The Southwest Florida Conservancy is celebrating the opening of an environmental research hostel.

The building was donated by Jeannie Meg and Christopher Byron Smith. The hostel is used for student accommodation during campus work and annual internships as part of the conservation organization’s programs.

Now, with the new building, the number of trainees accepted into the programs will increase by more than 20%.

The Conservancy offers a wide range of internships in environmental education, science and research, and wildlife restoration.
