Chasing a stolen car interrupted a radio interview with the sheriff of Volusia.

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Florida. On Tuesday afternoon, a stolen car driver on the run from police interrupted a radio interview with Volusian Sheriff Mike Chitwood, the sheriff’s office said.

The Sheriff’s Office released a video of the interview, which aired on Drew Garabo Live.

While the interview initially focused on Chitwood’s recent opposition to anti-Semitic groups in Florida, it quickly turned into a live race as it was revealed that the sheriff was chasing a stolen car down Interstate 95.

The video cuts to a highway chase where Chitwood and other law enforcement officers drive after the stolen vehicle and end up capturing the driver.

Back on the radio show, the host asks if Chitwood is okay, to which the sheriff says yes.

“Were good. Were good. It was one of those things where the FHP was chasing a car and I just ended up on the next exit where that son of a bitch was going (expletive),” Chitwood said.

The sheriff’s office said the suspect was taken into custody and the gun seized.

No further information about the identity of the suspect or the details of the theft was provided.
