Caribbean Airlines welcomes crowds of Trinidad carnival attendees

Piarco, Trinidad and Tobago – On February 16, Caribbean Airlines welcomed the multitudes of visitors arriving at Piarco International Airport, Trinidad Terminal with a taste of “Trini Carnival”.

As part of the airline’s annual Carnival Customer Appreciation, all passengers traveling on Caribbean Airlines flights to Port of Spain from various regional and international destinations received a special “Welcome Home” award as the airline relaunched the initiative. for the first time since 2020.

This year Caribbean Airlines has partnered with a number of parties concerned including the Trinidad and Tobago Airports Authority (AATT), Tourism Trinidad Limited, Tobago Tourism Agency Limited and the National Carnival Commission (NCC) to successfully host the event, which started at 20:00 at Piarco Airport.

Taste ‘Trini Carnival’

Arriving passengers heard the sweet sounds of Steel Pan and Tassa music as they landed at the airport and were greeted by traditional carnival characters such as Moko Jumbies, Dame Lorraine and Fancy Sailors.

The host of the event, Patrick, “HypeMan”, maintained the atmosphere and energy, while the Tunapuna Rhythm section and world-famous artist Oscar B were also on hand to entertain the passengers, much to their delight.

Caribbean Airlines CEO Garvin Medera said in a comment: ‘We are thrilled to be able to ‘welcome home’ so many visitors to Trinidad, many of whom want to experience carnival festivities and other aspects of this twin island’s rich culture that makes it a ‘home away from home’.

He continued: “Our ‘Carnival Thank You Customers’ is always one of our key calendar events and we are excited to relaunch this initiative in which we continue to let our passengers know how much we value and appreciate them. I also thank all the stakeholders who partnered with us to make this event a very special event for clients this year.”

Free gifts

Arriving visitors received free gift bags from Caribbean Airlines and tokens from local tourist boards, and were treated to delicious local specialties such as double courses, corn soup, crab and dumplings, Dashin punch, as well as other delicacies such as fudge, chow, sugar cake and tamarind balls provided by the airline and its partners.
