Venus Conjunct Saturn Will Light Up North Texas Skies This Weekend

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) If you look up into the sky on a Sunday night, you will have the opportunity to see something literally out of this world. Venus and Saturn will be in conjunction with each other, which means that the two planets will appear close to each other in the sky.

According to In-the-Sky.org, the pair of planets will become visible from Dallas as twilight begins to fade into darkness around 6:05 pm. above the southwestern horizon.

Around 19:32 Venus and Saturn will descend towards the horizon.

The moon shouldn’t be a problem for this event. In fact, by Sunday evening, the growing crescent will be illuminated by only 1%. This means that moonlight should not be a problem for this cosmic spectacle.

A telescope can help you see the planets better, but they will be completely visible to the naked eye or through binoculars.

Venus should appear bright but small in the night sky. Saturn, on the other hand, will be significantly less bright than Venus. However, experts say that Saturn’s rings should be visible through a telescope or binoculars.

Although the planets will appear close to each other from Earth, they will actually still be at a great distance from each other. According to NASA’s Solar System Exploration website, Saturn is currently about 914 million miles from the Sun, and Venus is nearly 68 million miles from the Sun.
