Caravan to ‘Eject Santos’ Demands Rep. Santos’ Expulsion from Congress

A group of New Yorkers protested Saturday around the city’s 3rd congressional district, calling for Rep. George Santos, RN.Y., to be expelled from Congress after new allegations against the struggling Republican emerged.

The Kick Santos caravan was organized by a number of groups calling for Santos to be kicked out, including MoveOn, Courage for America, and Concerned Citizens of NY-03.

Protesters were seen carrying placards and banners reading “Stop the lies, expel Santos!” and others are calling for Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy to take action against Santos.

Other activists chanted, shouting “Hey hey ho ho, Santos has to go!”

The GOP Congressman has faced accusations of résumé embellishment as the report compared him to the George Santos scandal.

Santos has been engulfed in controversy since he was elected to Congress in November. He repeatedly refused to step down from his position after admitting to lying about his education and work background during his 2022 campaign. Santos had previously vowed not to take on any committee assignments and was also considering re-election in 2024.

Santos recently admitted to being a “terrible liar” during an interview with Piers Morgan last week. The spokesman said he thinks he can get away with fabrications, as no one noticed them during his failed attempt to run for Congress in 2020.
