Car collides with mesh fence in Santa Clara, killing one

One person died and another was injured after their vehicle apparently collided with a chain link fence near Santa Clara on Monday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The collision occurred around 4:45 pm on U.S. Route 101 south north of the Great America Parkway.
CHP officers arrived and found the vehicle colliding with a 50-foot wire mesh fence.
The crash is currently under investigation, according to CHP.
