Cape Coral Police Arrest Four People After Stopping Traffic

CAPE CORAL, Florida. On Thursday, a Cape Coral police officer initiated a traffic stop on the 600 block of Southeast 24th Avenue.

Officers say they had prior knowledge that the vehicle had just been involved in a crime and were able to quickly locate the suspicious vehicle in close proximity to the call site.

Officers say Vincent Smith was the driver and they found drugs inside and on the car.

Investigators found a handgun in the car that they said was stolen from Texas.

Smith, along with three passengers, was taken to the Lee County Jail on similar charges.

• Possession of ammunition by a convicted felon
• Storage of drug paraphernalia
