California Surpasses Governor Jerry Brown’s Electric Vehicle Goal 2 Years Early

The state of California has announced that it has exceeded its goal of 1.5 million electric vehicles (EVs) on the road, a number set by Governor Jerry Brown, two years ahead of schedule. Betty Eidson, an EV driver, explained, “We love helping the environment, we feel that it’s a very necessary thing.” Eidson is one of the many who have chosen an all-electric experience over traditional gasoline engines. Electric vehicle companies, like Polestar in Marin, have benefited greatly from the growth of the EV market. David Dupart, General Manager of Polestar Marin, remarked, “We’ve had a lot of success, especially here in the Bay Area. In San Jose, the South Bay, which is Silicon Valley, and also Marin.”

While there are still challenges facing the adoption of EVs, like a shortage of charging stations, it is clear that the future is electric.
