Buzz Aldrin, lunar rover and former astronaut, is getting married on his 93rd birthday.

Buzz Aldrin, one of two astronauts to walk on the moon on the Apollo 11 mission in 1969, tied the knot with his longtime love on his 93rd birthday, according to a post he released Friday.

Aldrin posted on his Twitter account that he and Anka Fore got married in a small ceremony in Los Angeles, California.

“On my 93rd birthday, and the day I will also be honored by Living Legends of Aviation, I am delighted to announce that my longtime love, Dr. Anka Faur, and I have tied the knot,” Aldrin wrote.

The former astronaut added that he and his new wife were “as excited as runaway teenagers.”

Aldrin is the only one of the three astronauts on the Apollo 11 mission who is still alive.

The Apollo 11 mission was the first in human history to land humans on an Earth satellite, fulfilling a dream as old as humanity itself.

Neil Armstrong was the first astronaut to walk on the Moon at 9:56 pm ET on July 20, 1969.

Aldrin followed him 19 minutes later.

“An outstanding aviator, scientist, astronaut and patriot, Dr. Buzz Aldrin left an indelible mark not only on the history of his country, but on the history of the whole world,” writes the West Point Alumni Association.

The association notes that the “scientific triumph” of the moon landing was “one of the most memorable events of the 20th century and … represented the epitome of the country’s scientific capabilities and established its excellence in space exploration.”

“Approximately 600 million people — at the time the largest TV audience in the world — witnessed this unprecedented heroic effort,” writes BuzzAldrin.com, the astronaut’s official website.
