Britney Spears quietly sells California home, losing an estimated $1.7 million

Britney Spears has sold her 2008-built home in Calabasas, California, The Post confirmed, although the $10.1 million OTC deal was a loss for the “Stronger” singer.

Spears, who has long been known for her pop hits, spent a total of 13 years in relative silence during her publicly criticized tutelage. But in recent years, the 41-year-old has reappeared in the Free Britney movement – and her guardianship was terminated at the end of 2021.

More relaxed, however, was the activity in this six-bedroom mansion. According to TMZ, Spears and her husband Sam Asghari purchased the spread for $11.8 million in mid-2022. Soon after, they put it up for sale for $12 million.

On a breakdown, this means that the March 1 sale left the pair with a loss of about $1.7 million, about $1.9 million less than they wanted.

The new owner is reported to be a personal injury lawyer from Texas. The sale comes at a time of declining home prices, according to the latest data, as mortgage rates have risen again in an attempt to fight sluggish inflation.

The house, which Spears and Asghari bought around the time they got married, sits next to the home of her ex-husband Kevin Federline and their two sons.

Spears reportedly found the Calabasas home too insecure for her liking and now lives in her other home in Thousand Oaks, a town about 14 minutes away on Highway 101.

Bryce Pennel of Compass was a real estate listing agent in Calabasas.

Home features include 11,649 square feet of living space on a 1.6 acre lot. It has a 10-seat movie theater, a wine cellar, a wood-panelled office, a master bedroom with a fireplace, and – outside – a 55-foot pool with a built-in waterslide.

Elsewhere on site, there is a one-bedroom self-catering guest house.
