Body found in Grande Prairie as search continues for missing McKinney woman

The body was found Wednesday night in Grande Prairie as law enforcement officers across North Texas search 33 year old Kayla Kellybecame known to NBC 5.

Police cars blocked traffic at the intersection of Kingswood Boulevard and Prairie Oak Boulevard, in a residential area about one mile from the home of Ocastor Ferguson, the man accused of kidnapping Kelly, neighbors said.

A source confirmed to NBC 5 that investigators were working to find the body, and Collin County sheriff’s deputies were involved in the investigation.

Kelly, 33, was reported missing on January 11 after her loved ones and colleagues said they had not heard from her for several days. She has been dating a man named Kevin Brown since last summer and her friends say she planned to confront him after learning he was married and that his real name was Ocastor Ferguson.

Ferguson, 32, was arrested on January 14 on charges of kidnapping. He is being held at the Collin County Jail on bail totaling over $1 million.

An arrest warrant – affidavit received on Wednesday NBC 5 revealed that detectives said that Ferguson admitted to having a relationship with Kelly and that his phone records indicated he was near her home, where her car was found abandoned and burned on January 10.

Search for one rescue team, a local non-profit organization that helps law enforcement with lost and missing cases said they deployed twice on Friday and Monday to help with search efforts.
