Biden Calls Republicans ‘Financially Crazy’ During Keynote Speech

President Joe Biden took the moment to insult Republicans during a keynote speech.

“They will talk again about big-spending Democrats. Guess what? I cut last year’s deficit by $350 billion. The federal budget deficit has shrunk by more than $1 trillion this year. This is a fact,” Biden said, speaking at the National Action Network (NAN) annual breakfast.

He added: “And hundreds of billions will shrink in the next decade. But so what? I think these guys are financially obsessed. They don’t quite understand.”

Twitter users spoke out about what they think of Biden’s remarks.

One user tweeted: “The price of a dozen eggs is like a word…”

Another wrote, “Bad choice of word, Joe.”

Do you think Republicans are “financially insane”?

One tweet said: “Seriously, we need a full physical and mental health screening that should be made public as soon as possible.”

The President targeted the Republicans just a few days ago after the inflation report.

“Today’s inflation numbers are good news, good news about our economy,” he said.

Biden added: “We still have a lot of work to do, but we are on the right track. We see bright spots all over the country where great things are happening.”

Criticizing the Republicans, he explained: “The Republicans of the House of Representatives were campaigning against inflation. They did not say that their plan, if elected, was to increase inflation.”

The report showed that the annual inflation rate fell from 7.1% in November to 6.5% in December.

However, Treasury Secretary Janet L. Yellen issued yet another warning about the economy on Friday.

Yellen has told Congress that she will have to start taking “emergency measures” to pay the government’s bills if lawmakers fail to increase the debt limit, according to The New York Times.

“Failure from government commitments will cause irreparable damage to the US economy, the livelihoods of all Americans, and global financial stability,” Yellen said.

The publication noted that Biden said he would not negotiate a debt limit and Congress should raise it.
