Betty White’s former LA home demolished

Betty White’s longtime California crib is no more.

Following a sale last year, the late great comedian’s property has been reduced to rubble by its new owners.

White’s assistant took to the actress’ social media, which she now maintains, on Sunday to announce that the Brentwood abode Betty bought in 1968 has been razed.

“Hello all! I owe a post (or two) I know,” Kiersten Mikelas captioned a photo posted on her departed boss’ Instagram before explaining that the delay is due in part to the difficulty of approaching the one-year mark of White’s New Year’s Eve death in 2021 at age 99. “This is such a busy time of year and coming up on the anniversary of Betty’s passing is hitting in ways I hadn’t anticipated.”

The yellow-shuttered, 1952-built five-bedroom that White and her third husband Allen Ludden purchased together, the post continues, “is no more (save the fireplaces which will be gone in short order). I promise a wonderful tribute to our most wonderful lady very soon!!!!”

The property listed this April with Marlene Okulick Sotheby’s International Realty – Pacific Palisades Brokerage – four months after White’s death, marking the first time in half a century that it was available on the market. It sold in June, for approximately $100,000 over its $10.67 million ask.

The listing was marketed as a teardown, explicitly noting the charming property would be sold for land value, giving buyers the opportunity to construct a new building on the flat lot, The Post reported at the time. Although prospective owners were unable to get interior access to the 3,029-square-foot dwelling during visits, it was known to contain a room stuffed with stuffed animals, a product of White’s lifelong love of animals.

It also had an in-ground pool and lush landscaping as well as a front gate.

In addition to the Brentwood home, White also owned a Carmel, Calif. Address at the time of her death. The Carmel property was listed this March and sold mere weeks later.
