BakerRipley is accepting applications for the 2023 Utility Assistance Program to pay electricity, water and gas bills. What you should know

HOUSTON – According to a press release, BakerRipley announced that it is currently accepting applications for the 2023 Utility Assistance Program.

The company’s $15.2 million Direct Assistance Fund will be used to help eligible communities pay their electricity, water and gas bills.

How to know if you are a good fit

  • Applicants must be a US citizen or legal resident and reside in Harris, Brazoria, or Galveston County.

  • Applicants must also provide BakerRipley with a copy of their utility bill and provide proof of income.

Applications will be processed in the order in which they are received, and it can take up to eight weeks to process, the company said. Assistance funds are paid directly to the utility provider on behalf of the applicant.

How to apply

Residents can apply online or download the application through the BakerRipley website. To apply by mail, call the Utility Assistance Helpline at 713-590-2327 or the United Way of Greater Houston Helpline at 211 or 713-957-4357.
