Authorities arrest two suspects in Georgia motel death

After being accused of killing a colleague in a hotel pool, two people were taken into custody.

An investigation into the death of André Cournoyer, 60, from drowning at the SureStay Hotel in St. Marys began March 1, according to the Camden County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, St. Mary’s Police Department, and the Naval Criminal Investigation Service saw two men and a woman in a pool when the drowning was thought to have occurred after receiving surveillance video footage from the pool area.

The police named the woman Brianna Quitugua and the two boys Cournoyer and Shane White.

The Honey Boo Boo reality TV celebrity was riding a fast Dodge Charger when the Georgia deputies started chasing it.

White was charged with felony murder and aggravated assault.

A 17-year-old woman from Gwinnett County believed she was taking percocet; now she is dead.

After two best friends disappear on the Atlanta subway, friends and families are in desperate need of an explanation.

An investigation revealed that the contract company hired Cournoyer, White and Kitugua to work at the Kings Bay Naval Station.

The tweet below explains that this was a murder investigation, not a drowning investigation:

Authorities detained Kitugua and White after examining the video and concluding that Cournoyer’s death was a murder and not a drowning.

White was charged with felony murder and aggravated assault.

Kitugua was charged with being an accessory to both murder and aggravated assault.

The investigation is still ongoing.
