Austin Garbage Pickup Services Resuming After Weather Suspension

Austin Resource Recovery resumes curbside collection from Thursday, February 2, but not at full capacity.

At a press conference this morning, officials said they were picking up where they left off on January 31st, when garbage collection, recycling, composting, bundling and brushing were suspended due to icy conditions.

City officials say carts, bulk materials and brushes should be left at the curb for staff to pick up as road conditions improve.

Large hurricane debris should be cut before it is placed on the curb.

The City is currently working with a non-profit organization to figure out how to help people with disabilities cut away large hurricane debris.

Collections will continue until the weekend.
