Anna Delvey called the intention of the ex-lawyer to write a book about her a violation

As it became known to The Post, Anna Sorokina’s former lawyer plans to write a frank book about a fake heiress.

“She’s trying to get as much as she can out of being connected to me and my story,” Sorokina, aka Anna Delvey, said in an interview with The Post on Monday about her former lawyer, Audrey Thomas.

Last week, Thomas belligerently sent out profanity emails to Sorokina’s current lawyers and court staff, revealing that she plans to publish two books, including one about her former client whose fraudulent exploits were the subject of the Netflix show Inventing Anna. “.

The email includes a book cover mock-up with photos of the 32-year-old “Soho Grifter” and Thomas, titled “Anna Delvey’s Reality.”

Sorokina filed a lawsuit against Thomas in September 2022 seeking the return of court records she says she needs to fight her deportation case and her 2019 grand larceny conviction in an appeals court.

“This has been going on for almost a year now,” Sorokin said. “It’s really frustrating. The only reason she does this is just to spite me.”

Last week, Manhattan Judge Arthur Engoron said Thomas has one week to hand over the papers or she will be charged with contempt of court and ordered to pay Sorokin’s attorney’s fees.

Thomas did not attend the hearing or file any court papers in the case, so Engoron’s clerk emailed a “courtesy copy” of the order.

Thomas responded to the clerk’s email, which copied Sorokin’s lawyers, and said: “What a dumbass you are, I CAN’T GIVE YOU WHAT I DON’T HAVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” . according to court records, including emails.

“I don’t have shit… Please leave me alone,” the email continued.

She told Sorokina’s lawyers that they could sue her for legal fees as soon as she published her books.

Sorokina said that now that Thomas has been disbarred — for allegedly stealing $630,000 from a client in an unrelated 2013 case — she fears all defenses for lawyer and client privacy will fly out the window.

“Now that she is deprived of the right to a lawyer, she has no incentive to comply with anything,” Sorokina told The Post. “So in a way, it’s pretty scary. If she is capable of sending such e-mails to the court, what else is she going to do with my files?”

Sorokina’s lawyer, Duncan Levin, told The Post: “These emails speak for themselves about her total lack of professionalism, as does the fact that she was disbarred.”

“As a former lawyer, even a disbarred one, she should know better than to address the court in such an inappropriate way,” Levine said.

Engoron gave Thomas until March 1 to hand over the documents, but in light of Thomas’s email, Levin is now asking the judge to force her to “hand over all the case file immediately.”

Levine also says Thomas will have to pay Sorokin’s legal fees and face “harsh sanctions” from the court.

Sorokina served four years in prison after being convicted of stealing $200,000 from banks and businesses. After her release in February 2021, she had to turn herself in to ICE for allegedly overstaying her visa and having a criminal conviction on her record.

Thomas told The Post on Monday that Sorokin lost her attorney-client privilege when she accused the lawyer of misconduct.

“Under our amazing justice system, when you accuse your attorney of misconduct, there is no attorney-client privilege,” Thomas said. “This is especially true when your claims are false.”

Regarding the emails, she said, “Well, this was clearly not meant for the court, so I’ll send an apology to the Justice Minister because it wasn’t really meant for him.”

“But I meant every word I said about Duncan and his team,” she said.
