Aggravated robbery suspect faces multiple charges following a chase and crash in Dallas, the sheriff’s office said.

The suspect, later identified as 31-year-old Tyler Charles Payne, is currently being treated at a local hospital for injuries sustained in the crash.

DALLAS. An aggravated robbery suspect was hospitalized after leading officers led a chase Monday that resulted in a crash on Interstate 35 in Dallas. sheriff’s department said.

On Monday, January 9, just before 2:00 pm, the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office reports that deputies were alerted that a Department of Public Safety helicopter was chasing an armed and dangerous suspect who was driving through Dallas in a stolen Porsche.

Before stealing a Porsche in Dallas, the suspect committed an aggravated robbery in Frisco, where he stole a Cadillac SUV while holding a woman at gunpoint, according to the Sheriff’s Department.

As the suspect was driving south on I-35, deputies said, he lost control and crashed into another vehicle near 8th Street in Dallas.

The suspect then approached the Pontiac and attempted to steal it when the cops came to arrest him. The deputies said that after a short struggle they managed to take the suspect into custody.

The suspect, later identified as 31-year-old Tyler Charles Payne, is currently being treated at a local hospital for his injuries.

During the investigation, deputies learned that Payne had also escaped twice from the Choctaw County Jail in Oklahoma and the Hinds County Jail in Mississippi.

The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office charged Payne with aggravated robbery and failure to identify the fugitive with the intent to give false information.
