A woman is run over, run over and killed on Goldenrod Road in Orlando.

ORLANDO, Florida. A woman standing in the middle of an Orange County road was hit by an SUV, hit by a car and killed, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The fatal crash occurred around 8:15 p.m. Wednesday on North Goldenrod Road near Chapel Trace Drive in Orlando.

FHP said the woman was standing on the north lane of Goldenrod Road when the 29-year-old Casselberry woman, driving a 2014 Toyota 4Runner, hit her. According to police, the driver who was at the scene did not see the woman on the road.

According to the FHP crash report, the woman was knocked to the ground and then hit by a black car that did not stay at the scene.

The pedestrian was taken to AdventHealth East Orlando, where she was pronounced dead, FHP said.

The driver of the 4Runner and his passenger, a 28-year-old Orlando resident, were not injured.

No details have been released about the car that fled the scene.

After the accident, all lanes of Goldenrod Road were closed, but the roadway was later reopened.
