A 16-year-old boy is killed and a 17-year-old girl is seriously injured in a shooting outside of the Fort Worth Wataburger.

Fort Worth police are investigating a shooting that killed a 16-year-old boy and seriously injured a 17-year-old girl.

It happened in the parking lot of a Whataburger restaurant on Friday around 4:00 p.m. on West Berry Street on Forest Park Boulevard, across the street from Pascal High School.

Two victims were taken to the hospital in critical condition, but the boy later died. The girl is still being treated.

No one is in custody, but police say the victim and suspect knew each other.

The Fort Worth ISD says it is aware of the shooting and is involved in the investigation, but has not explicitly said if their students were involved.

Because the shooting took place half a mile from TCU, the police alerted campus police.

TCU released a bulletin saying the suspects left after the shooting in a dark-colored SUV, heading east on West Berry Street. It stated that no students, faculty, or TCU staff were involved.
