Jim Carrey says goodbye to his old home in Los Angeles.
“For three decades it has been a haven for me, but now I don’t spend much time there and want someone else to enjoy it like I did,” Kerry, 61, said in a statement to The Post. “Cha-cha-cha… Change!” he added, referring to the iconic David Bowie song.
The Canadian-born comedian, long known for his role in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, purchased the five-bedroom, nine-bathroom estate in 1994 for $3.8 million ($7.71 million today). The massive property of over 12,700 square feet was sold for $28.9 million.
Kerry told the Wall Street Journal, which first reported the listing, that the house has been “a place of fascination and inspiration” for him for “30 very creative and prosperous years.”
“Owls sang lullabies to me every night, and every morning I sipped my cup of joe with hawks and hummingbirds under a giant grandfather pine,” he said.

Carrey bought the house right before the release of his first major film, Ace Ventura: Pet Detective.
The ad notes that the one-story ranch house, set on 2 acres, stands behind a 280-foot hedge in affluent Brentwood.
The living room, dining room and family rooms have fireplaces with beamed ceilings and skylights. Glass doors open onto a patio for indoor and outdoor living and optimal sunlight.
The chef’s kitchen has a breakfast room overlooking the pear trees outside.

Meanwhile, the main suite has been designated a “vacation haven” with a seating area, a fireplace, a balcony, and a wood-paneled bathroom with a fireplace and a deep soaking tub.
Other features include a gym, an office, a theater with a snack bar, and additional en-suite bedrooms.
Outdoors, there is a tennis court, gazebo, waterfall pool and spa, pool house with bar, fireplace, private infrared sauna and steam room.
There is even a garden and several winding paths.
Janelle Friedman of Sotheby’s International Realty – Santa Monica Venice brokerage owns the listing.
In 2013, Kerry sold his Malibu oceanfront property for $13.4 million, which he bought in 2002.
It is unclear where Kerry will land. The Post has reached out for comment.
