Austin, Texas. Governor Greg Abbott will host the Texas Intergovernmental Support Agreement (TxDOT) (S-IGSA) signing ceremony Wednesday.
In 2021, the Governor signed House Bill 3399 authorizing TxDOT S-IGSA to provide road services on federal military property. According to the governor’s office, the agreement provides a path to the completion of road maintenance and repair projects, as well as the purchase of bulk materials, as part of a ten-year partnership between the state and the federal government.
This is the nation’s first S-IGSA between the state and the US military, according to the governor’s office.
Abbott will be joined at the signing by Rachel Jacobson, U.S. Army Assistant Secretary for Facilities; Robert Moriarty, Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Facilities; Gregory Smith, Chief of Staff, Captain, South Eastern Navy; TxDOT Chairman Bruce Bagg; and TxDIOT CEO Mark Williams
The ceremony will take place Wednesday at 1:00 pm at the Governor’s Public Reception Room at the Texas State Capitol.
