4 people in custody after harassment ended on Interstate 80 in Vallejo
According to the California Highway Patrol, four people were taken into custody in Vallejo on Wednesday morning after the pursuit came to an end: authorities pinned the stolen vehicle against the median barrier of Interstate 80.
The pursuit began when police in Elk Grove, Sacramento, attempted to stop a stolen sedan. The pursuit continued along Interstate 80 west toward the bay before ending on Highway 37 in Vallejo thanks to the spiked stripes and PIT officers’ precision immobilization maneuver, CHP said.
The NBC Bay Area SkyRanger filmed the end of the chase. The footage shows a number of cruisers following a slow-moving sedan after it brushed against several studded lanes set up by officers.
The police then managed to pin the vehicle against the guard rail and detain four people without incident.
