3 New Mexico teenagers die from carbon monoxide poisoning

Authorities said on Monday that three teenagers were found dead in a garage in Edgewood, apparently from carbon monoxide poisoning.

Edgewood police said the bodies were found on Sunday and a propane heater was in use in the garage.

The names and ages of the three teens have not been released until their families are notified.

Edgewood police announced on Monday that three teenagers found dead in a garage were likely carbon monoxide poisoning.

Edgewood Police Chief Roger Jimenez said the deaths showed no signs of foul play and stressed the importance of carbon monoxide detectors.

The teens were students at Moriarty High School and officials said grief counseling would be available to students and victims’ families.

Edgewood is located 33 miles east of Albuquerque.
