2020 presidential candidate enters race to likely challenge Joe Biden

President Joe Biden will face a challenger in the 2024 Democratic presidential primary if he decides to run for re-election.

And this is a candidate from the 2020 election cycle.

Self-help author Marianne Williamson confirmed on Thursday that she will run in the 2024 primary.

During an interview with Medill News Service, Williamson was asked if she would nominate the White House again.

“We are talking on the phone, but if we were on FaceTime, you would see me winking,” she replied.

The author added, “I wouldn’t be running for president if I didn’t believe I could do my part to harness the collective feeling that I think is our greatest hope at this time.”

Williamson argued that the country is facing the threat of authoritarianism as several groups, such as fossil fuel companies and arms makers, “suck the juices” out of democracy.

She also suggested: “The people who run the government fall into two categories: those who either don’t want to fix something or don’t have the determination to fix it. And none of the categories should govern this country.”

In addition, the author stated that the media “tried to portray me as stupid, they tried to portray me as frivolous” during her 2020 campaign.

Williamson is expected to officially announce his campaign on March 4.

She was among 28 other Democrats who took part in the 2020 mass primary.

However, her first presidential bid ended before the primary votes were cast. She dropped out in January 2020.

“I kept racing to take every opportunity I could to share our message,” she said at the time. “However, as the caucuses and primaries are about to begin, we won’t be able to garner enough votes in the election to raise our conversation any more than it is now.”

Biden is expected to run for a second term, but has not yet officially shared his plans.

However, a Politico article earlier this week cast doubt on whether he would run.

Williamson could become the first Democrat to launch a presidential campaign this cycle.
