2 arrested for execution-style shooting that killed 6 people in Central California.

Two gang members suspected of last month’s massacre of six people in central California were arrested early Friday morning, one following a shootout, according to Tulare County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff Mike Boudreau said Noah David Beard, 25, was taken into custody without incident and Angel “Nanu” Uriarte, 35, was wounded in a shootout with federal agents and underwent surgery.

The suspects and family members of the victims have a long history of gang violence, but the motive for the shooting is “not entirely clear,” Boudreau said at a news conference at the sheriff’s headquarters in Visalia.

The Tulare County District Attorney’s Office charged both suspects with six counts of murder and other crimes.

The six victims, including a teenage mother and her child, were gunned down January 16 in rural Goshen, a community of 3,000 in the San Joaquin Valley.

The sheriff said the arrests were linked to “Operation Nightmare,” in which several search warrants were served and the cells of inmates linked to the prison gang were raided at several state prisons.

The victims were identified as: Rosa Parras, 72; Eladio Parras Jr., 52; Jennifer Analla, 49; Marcos Parras, 19; Alyssa Parraz, 16; and Nicholas Parraz, 10 months.

The sheriff said Alyssa Parraz had just received full custody of her son after he spent several months in foster care. The two were reunited on January 13, three days before they were killed.

The Goshen murders were part of a brutal and deadly month in California.

On January 21, a shooting at the Monterey Park dance hall left 11 people dead and nine injured. The shooter later committed suicide. On January 23, a shooting at two Half Moon Bay farms killed seven people and injured one before a suspect was arrested.
