14-year-old suspect arrested in Lake Highlands shooting case

DALLAS – Dallas police said they have arrested a 14-year-old in connection with the fatal shooting of a Lake Highlands High School freshman.

Dadrian Harrison, 16, was gunned down in an apartment complex on Skillman Street on Tuesday evening.

Police have not released the circumstances of the shooting, but Harrison’s mother believes her son was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

“His friends said they were walking and the guys chasing them started shooting. They looked back at my son and he shot him in the back,” Harrison’s mother, Ashley Kelly, told FOX 4 last week.

Police have not released any information about the suspected shooter or the charges they expect they will face.

At this time, we also don’t know if Harrison knew the suspect.
