Youngkin condemns Biden’s ‘incredible’ decision not to visit Ohio after train derailment: ‘must lead’

Governor Glenn Youngkin of Virginia criticized President Biden for not visiting Ohio after the toxic train derailment that left the entire city in fear, and instead went to Virginia to talk about health care.

On February 3, a train with 50 railroad cars, including vinyl chloride, derailed in East Palestine, Ohio. After the derailment, a controlled release of hazardous chemicals was carried out to prevent a major explosion, but residents began reporting rashes, lung problems, bronchitis, and fears of future cancer spread from exposure.

During an appearance on Sunday Morning Futures with Mario Bartiromo, Youngkin said that against the backdrop of Biden’s recent trip to Ukraine and an expected trip to Virginia, “it’s really unbelievable that he has yet to go to Ohio and support these people who need help.” “

“Well, Joe Biden was in Ukraine, now he’s going to Virginia. He has yet to visit Ohio,” Youngkin said. “And he wants to talk about healthcare, why don’t he go somewhere where people actually have real health issues that make them worry not only about the day-to-day consequences of this horrific train accident, but also the long-term consequences.” strokes with a threat of cancer, etc.”

The president recently said he had no plans to travel to Ohio and instead took part in a Zoom conference to discuss the incident. “Are you planning to go to East Palestine, Ohio?” the reporter asked.

“Not at the moment. I made a whole video, I mean, well, what the hell, on…,” Biden said, struggling to find the next words.

“Increase?” He reportedly tried to help the president finish his sentence.

“Increase!” Biden said. “All I can think of every time I think of Zoom is my generation’s song ‘Who’s Zooming who?'”

“Wait, wait, wait, let me answer the question. The answer is that I had a long meeting with my team and what they do. You know, we were there two hours after the train left. For two hours “I’ve been talking to every major figure in both Pennsylvania and Ohio. So the idea that we’re not engaged just doesn’t exist. And initially I wasn’t asked to go out before I went to Kiev. So I’m following this very closely. We’re doing everything we can,” Biden added.
