Wrench & Rodent Sushi Owners To Bring New Concept Seafoam Restaurant To Oceanside Pier
The crew behind North County San Diego sushi destination Wrench & Rodent has taken over part of the space last occupied by Ruby’s at the end of the Oceanside Pier and will open a new restaurant concept tentatively dubbed Seafoam.
With the goal of launching a new casual restaurant concept, the Waites have taken over a portion of the building that long housed Ruby’s, a 1940s-style diner that sat at the end of the 1880s-era pier for nearly 30 years before closing in early 2021. Currently named Seafoam, the 109 square-foot kiosk space will serve modern takes on English seaside shack dining options like fish & chips, fried seafood platters, and raw bar staples, as well as vegan options. There is still no word on who will take over the main building at the end of the pier.
