Woman pleads guilty to sending deadly bioweapon to Trump

Citizens of Canada and France pleaded guilty Wednesday to nine counts of bioweapons-related charges for sending then-President Donald Trump a ricin-laced threatening letter to the White House in September 2020 and eight similar letters to Texas law enforcement officials, the Department of Justice. announced.

Pascal Cécile Véronique Ferrier, 55, sent letters from Canada before heading to the border crossing in Buffalo, New York in September 2020, where she was caught with a weapon, including a loaded handgun and hundreds of rounds of ammunition, according to the press. Department of Justice release.

The Justice Department said she would be sentenced to 21 years and 10 months in prison at a scheduled April 26 hearing if the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia grants her a plea agreement.
