“When God touched me, I moved” | San Antonio woman opens multidisciplinary beauty salon

There are many beauty services on offer and soon those who want to gain skills in the beauty industry will be able to get their knowledge at House of Slay.

SAN ANTONIO — All it took was perseverance, a dream, and dedication to bring House of Slay to life.

Shai Bellamy has gone from working from her home to starting her own business, which is a one-stop shop for beauty enthusiasts.

“I started doing my eyebrows back in 2017 and have always worked from home, but I told myself that if I was going to get overhead, I would have a place where I could rent out my own apartment,” Bellamy said. “Instead of having a room where I was paying overhead, I said let’s have something where I can invite everyone and have a one-stop shop for all your beauty needs. That’s what we’re aiming to do here. Offer everything in one place instead of going to several different places.”

And by everything you need, she literally means everything.

Let’s start with permanent cosmetics. I do hybrid eyebrows, ombre, microblading, lip neutralization, blush. [and] dental stones. We have a lady who offers massages. She’s also a body contouring specialist,” Bellamy said. We have a makeup artist [and] it’s also a training academy where you can come and learn a different set of skills like permanent makeup. Weavers will come to us. We want to have literally all the services that we could offer here.”

Even though she offered everything, it took Bellamy a lot of effort to get to where she is today.

“I have been so successful in the last five years. I have really made a name for myself, especially in the San Antonio area, and I have been blessed enough to be able to do so. When God touched me, I moved.”
