Weapons and $41,000 in cash found after arrest of New Orleans murder suspect in Austin

A suspect in the New Orleans murder was arrested in Austin by members of the US Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force.

Anderson Dixon, 20, was wanted by the New Orleans Police Department for a November 2022 murder in New Orleans.

U.S. Marshals in the Eastern District of Louisiana sought the help of the Lone Star Fugitive Retrieval Task Force in Austin to locate and arrest Dixon.

Dixon was believed to be staying in Austin.

On February 2, Dixon was found in an Austin apartment building at the 6200 block of Loyola Lane and arrested.

The Austin Police Department and the New Orleans Police Department conducted a joint investigation to obtain a search warrant for the home following Dixon’s arrest.

Austin police then conducted a search and found two assault rifles, two handguns, 75 pounds of marijuana, and $41,000 in foreign currency.

Dixon was taken and placed in the Travis County Jail, where he will await further trial and extradition.
