Watsonville police arrest man wanted on multiple federal warrants after chase
WATSONVILLE POLICE, Calif. (KION-TV) — Watsonville police said they were chasing a wanted suspect until he crashed into two cars on Lincoln Street Wednesday.
Police tried to stop a man driving a Honda Accord for a traffic violation near Main and Fifth Street, police said. The driver drove off and went through several stop signs before crashing into a moving vehicle and a parked SUV on Lincoln Street.
Suspect Nathanael Avila, 35, was found hiding under a parked car, police said. Ávila had seven outstanding warrants, including a federal firearms warrant.
He was arrested in Santa Cruz County on charges of evading criminal prosecution.
