Warrant: Moving boxes believed to be full of marijuana found in home where man was found dead

According to a search warrant, police found a firearm and several cases of what appeared to be marijuana in the house.

HOUSTON. According to a search warrant, a search of a northwest Houston home where a man was found dead late last month found what police believe to be crates of marijuana.

Houston police said they found Dana Ryssdal, 35, shot to death in a house on West TC Jester Boulevard near West 18th Street on Jan. 27. However, investigators believe that the shooting actually took place on January 26.

According to a search warrant, police found firearm shells and several boxes of marijuana in the house.

The document also stated that Ryssdal and his friend James Martin were marijuana growers in Oregon and had recently returned to Houston.

Martin, whose parents own the house, was reported missing but was later found dead in the trunk of a car on police confiscation, HPD reports.

No motive or suspect has been released.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to call HPD Homicide at 713-308-3600 or Crime Squad at 713-222-TIPS (8477).
