Waller ISD employee fired after allegations of inappropriate relationship with student, district says

WALLER, Texas – Independent School District employee Waller was fired after the district launched an investigation following allegations of inappropriate relationships involving a student.

The county received the tip Jan. 5 via an anonymous messaging app, officials said. CrisisGo.

The Harris County Sheriff’s office immediately launched an investigation, and the officer was reportedly placed on leave the same day.

County officials also say they have contacted Child Protective Services.

The employee’s job was terminated on January 13, 2023.

“I want to thank those who gave the tip and acknowledge the actions of our county investigators and law enforcement,” said WISD Superintendent Kevin Moran. “This district will never tolerate a student’s safety being compromised. We will act quickly and take disciplinary action to the fullest extent of the law. We continue to work with the justice system on this matter and are committed to working closely with all affected students and their families.”

“Having an app like CrisisGo where anyone can go to report a problem and we get notified right away is invaluable,” Moran added. “I want to remind our WISD family that if you see something, say something. CrisisGo allows you to send tips anonymously or with contact information. All advice is taken seriously and promptly investigated and acted upon.”

Authorities say no further information can be shared due to privacy laws.

“The safety and well-being of the families of Waller ISD (WISD) students and staff is the district’s highest priority. On January 5, 2023, WISD administrators were prompted through the county’s anonymous posting app. CrisisGo, alleging an inappropriate relationship between an employee and a student. An investigation involving the Harris County Sheriff began immediately. On the same day, WISD sent the employee on leave. District officials also notified Child Protective Services and continued to cooperate with law enforcement in the investigation. On January 13, 2023, his employment relationship was terminated.
