A new surveillance video has captured moments after police said the alleged murder suspect killed his 21-year-old wife.

BACKGROUND: 21-year-old woman beheaded in Waller County by alleged new husband: “pieces and pieces were found”

In a video shared by FOX 26, you can see 21-year-old Jared James Deakus enter the store just before noon on Wednesday. In the video, convenience store workers said the time stamp on the video was off by about an hour.

In the video, Deekus walks into a store, steals a beer, walks past the counter without paying, and then opens a beer in the parking lot.

It all started Wednesday afternoon when Waller County deputies were called home just after 4:15 pm.

PREVIOUS HISTORY: The woman’s body was found decapitated at the Waller Co., the suspect turned out to be the victim’s husband.

Further investigation revealed that the woman was found in a second building behind an apartment building on the 200 block of Oak Hollow Boulevard.

Waller County Sheriff Troy Guidry explained the situation during a press conference on Thursday.

“It was part of a dismembered body and a dwelling covered in blood. So it was a terrible scene at best,” Guidry says.

Deekus was taken into custody after the discovery of a 21-year-old woman. Guidry stated that Discus did not give any evidence, but later confessed to the murder.

Guidry added that further investigation showed that the incident took place around 11 a.m. on Wednesday.

Sheriff Guidry says evidence shows a kitchen knife was used in the murder.

“It all happened on the grounds,” Guidry said. “And all the pieces and parts were discovered and presented as evidence.”

The motives for what happened are still being investigated.
