Vintage style old Florida “spend the moment”

WEST PALM BEACH, Florida. The Kips Bay Decorator Show House once again brought together high-profile designers from around the country to transform a home in the Palm Beach area. This year, 21 designers brought their style to a 9,000-square-foot home along the Waterfront Canal in West Palm Beach.

Many designers borrowed items from local shops and galleries to complete the rooms.

Designers selected over 20 items from the Regency Palm Beach collection in Lake Park, from small accessories to large pieces of furniture.

Owner Corinne Belok said the house offers local businesses and craftsmen the opportunity to work together and promote each other’s work.

“Palm Beach is definitely having a moment and it’s the epicenter of vintage and design,” Belok said. “The essence of Palm Beach Regency, and also the Regency style, is that it’s a classic.”

Each room in the house is decorated in a different style, but the Florida atmosphere and color palette tie the rooms together.

“So you see classic, classic old-school rattan pieces that may have belonged to your grandma that you always loved, but now it’s turned into a beautiful designer room,” Belok said.

Just because the design is intricate doesn’t make it stuffy. Squirrel said the Florida style is fun.

“One thing I love that really comes through in the show house is the quirky nature of Palm Beach. So you have people mixing funny things like frogs, monkeys and dogs at the door. It’s all fun, traditional, quirky Palm Beach stuff,” she said.

This year’s Kips Bay Decorator Show House is located in Northwood Shores at 3240 N. Flagler Drive. It is open to the public until 19 March. All tickets are for Palm Beach County Boys and Girls Clubs.
