Utah bank robber stole $1 and demands to go to federal prison: report

Suspect bank robber in utah On Monday, he demanded $1 from a bank teller and waited for the cops to arrive because he wanted to go to federal prison.

Donald Matthew Santacroce, 65, was instead sent to the Salt Lake County Jail for charge of robberyThis was reported by the Salt Lake City Police Department.

“Please excuse me for this, but this is a robbery. Please give me 1 dollar. Thank you,” Santacroce wrote in a note he gave to a Wells Fargo cashier, according to a sworn written police statement. KSL news release.

He then asked the bank staff to call the police and waited in the lobby.

“The man, later identified as Donald Santacroce, took the money and refused to leave the bank,” police said in a statement.

When the authorities arrived, he handed them 1 dollar bill and asked to be sent to federal prison. Authorities did not say why Santacroce wanted to go to federal prison.
