Update the News 6 app to get a personalized news feed, new features

CENTRAL FLORIDA, Florida. – The News 6 mobile app has a new look and feel with improved features. It’s all about customization, so you can get news and videos on topics that interest you, filtering out what you don’t want to see.

Here are some of the new features offered by the updated News 6 app.

Home page customization

The homepage looks a little different, with stories broken into categories like Local News, Live Streams, Weird Florida, and more.

In my opinion, one of the best features of the update is that you can personalize your feed to show the stories you want to see.

On the main page, just click “customize page” in the top right corner and you will see a list of categories offered through the News 6 app. You can add the categories you like to your feed by simply clicking the green plus button, and filter out the ones you don’t need. categories by clicking the red minus button and then deleting them from your feed. You can also organize the topics according to your preferences, click save and the order you choose will be displayed on your personalized homepage.

Simplified access to insider content

You can also sign in to your Insider account, which gives you convenient access to exclusive stories…behind-the-scenes content and giveaways right from your phone. Logging in will also activate our comment feature so you can join our stories and continue the conversation.

Want to save an article to check back later? Just click on the star at the top of the page. From the main menu, by clicking on the shaded star, you will be able to access all your saved stories… handy, right?

Quick access to PinIt! and news 6 Accurate Accurate Weather

The new app also gives you quick access to our PinIt! page so you can share photos and videos from News 6.

And we haven’t forgotten your weather. Your local temperatures are displayed in the top right corner and with a single tap you will automatically open the News 6 Pinpoint Weather app to get a more detailed forecast straight from our News 6 meteorologists.

If you already have the News 6 app, you just need a quick update.

If you don’t have it, it’s available on the Apple and Google Play Stores and is free.
