Two women are wanted for fleeing a car crash that killed a car wash worker in New York

Early Sunday morning, a man working at a car wash in the Bronx was hit without warning by a driver suspected of drinking.

CCTV footage captured the moment a worker at the Speedway car wash on Webster Avenue was sandwiched between the car he was cleaning and the suspect’s car.

In the video, the man can be seen wiping down the car – just seconds after the car came out of the wash – around 5:30 a.m. An employee is barely finishing wiping down one side of a customer’s car when the suspect bursts down the bus lane.

The man, identified by police as 55 years old, was squeezed between two cars and fell to the ground. The force of the impact propelled the washed car forward, landing in a completely different direction.

A second Speedway worker was also injured in the collision and was recovering in hospital, according to police and witnesses.

Hours after the crash, police were still looking for two women accused of running away from the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
