Two rescued from accident in Upper Freehold Township with non-life-threatening injuries

Update from the New Jersey State Police Department of Public Information.

Tpr. II Charles Marchan told MidJersey.News that military personnel responded to a car accident at 4:54 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of 524 County Road and Sharon Station Road, Upper Freehold, Monmouth County.

According to the preliminary investigation, one vehicle was driving on Highway 524 and the other on Sharon Station Road. The cars collided at the intersection, causing one of the cars to overturn. The passengers were taken to the district hospital with injuries incompatible with life.

UPPER FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP, NJ (MONMOUTH) – At 4:54 p.m., the Allentown Hope Fire and Millstone Township Fire Department were sent to 524 County Road and Sharon Station Road after they rolled over and hit a power pole with a pinch. Enroute Chief 82-66 requested assistance from Millstone and additional BLS from Robbinsville due to a confirmed report of many trapped. Upon arrival, a two-vehicle crash occurred with two patients stranded in the rollover, both of whom needed ALS-Advance Life Support, sending a second medic to the scene. Upon arrival of the first ALS unit, a medical evacuation helicopter was requested. The first victim got out at about the 25th minute, and the second – at the 40th. Robbinsville Ambulance 40 transported the first patient by ground transport to the Captial Health System Trauma Center in Trenton. RWJ Barnabas’ medical evacuator landed in a field near the scene and transported a second patient to RWJUH New Brunswick with serious injuries. There are no other details about the accident.
