Two people burned to death in an explosion at a Japanese steakhouse in Ocala

OCALA, Florida. – Two people were injured in an explosion at a Japanese steakhouse in Ocala on Thursday afternoon, the Ocala Fire and Rescue Service said.

Fire officials said crews arrived at the scene of the explosion around 5:00 pm at the Edo Japanese Steakhouse, located at 4414 SW College Road.

Upon arrival, the crews headed for an open grilling area, where they found fire extinguishing powder covering the ground and two casualties, the FIU said.

The report notes that two victims were taken to hospital for medical treatment. No other casualties were reported, the fire department said.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time, according to the FIU.

At the moment there is no additional information.
