Two injured in shootout, police say

As they fired, not only did they hit each other, but, according to police, they also hit the plumbing inside, flooding the apartments.

SAN ANTONIO — Two people were injured in a shootout at a downtown apartment complex early Wednesday morning. The plumbing was also damaged, causing some blocks to flood.

The call came in at about 2:45 am to Cevallos near I-10.

San Antonio police say the man and woman were arguing in the hallway outside the apartment when they both drew their weapons and opened fire.

Not only did they hurt each other, one of them got into the water supply, which led to the flooding of several apartments.

The woman was wounded in the lower abdomen, and the man was wounded in the arm.

When the police arrived there, they found the woman on the sidewalk outside the compound, and the man was found in the hallway where the shooting had taken place.

Police say the woman is in critical condition, while the man is in stable condition.

The police do not know what led to the altercation and there were no witnesses.

Officials are still investigating what happened.

Firefighters are on the scene to deal with the flooding.

This is an evolving story.
