Two firefighters were injured after they were shot during an emergency call, SAFD said.

The fire brigade was fired upon while calling 911 and immediately took cover before returning to the station to assess their injuries.

SAN ANTONIO. According to SAFD, two firefighters were shot at while answering an emergency call on the west side.

Police responded around 2 am to reports of shooting in the 2500 block of Bandera Street early Sunday.

Officials say the suspect drove past rescuers in a silver Toyota while they were on call, and someone fired multiple shots in their direction. The SAFD crew then returned to the station to assess their injuries.

One of the firefighters received a laceration on the left side of his head due to a possible scrape, and a second firefighter had a small laceration on his arm that he received while taking cover.

The suspect vehicle was not found.
